- ➤ Hundreds of Mason neighbors attended an event Sunday night at We Church Lansing to oppose potential data center developments that may harm drinking water supplies and strain the electrical grid + Mason City Council placed a moratorium and is seeking public input on new regulations. FOX 47
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan State women’s basketball team won 85-81 against Oregon at Matthew Knight Area on Jan. 11. Grace VanSlooten returned to her former school and helped the Spartans overcome an early double-digit deficit to extend their win streak to eight. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ East Lansing senior KJ Torbert scored 39 points in overtime to lead his team to a 80+71 win over Rockford at East Kentwood High School on Saturday, Jan. 10. His strong play extended their winning streak to 34 games. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ MSU hockey split its series with Ohio State last weekend; they won 6-2 Friday and lost 2-1 Saturday, moving to a 15-5-0 overall record (6-4-0 in Big Ten play). The Spartans will face Wisconsin on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16 on the road. The State News
