- ➤ MSU’s beloved frisbee-catching dog known as Buckshot passed away Sunday from a rare cancer at 10 years old. Jim and Terri Foley plan a memorial in the coming weeks and encourage fans to donate to the MSU Student Food Bank to honor his legacy. WKAR

- ➤ On March 2, researchers reported that the Great Lakes were about 50% frozen; Lake Superior and Lake Erie had high ice coverage while Lake Michigan and Lake Ontario remained mostly open (data provided by NOAA) before warmer air is expected to reduce the ice cover later this week. - ➤ The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced today that the coyote hunting and trapping season runs until Oct. 14 — hunters must hold a base license and nonresidents need a fur harvester license. Stacks 92.1

- ➤ Construction began Monday on Oakland Avenue in Lansing as crews start sewer separation work followed by repaving from Center Street to Walnut Street—drivers face detours through July, and further work on Cavanaugh between Cedar and MLK is planned for later this summer. FOX 47
