- ➤ A state audit found that MDHHS did not consistently check credentials for school services staff from July 2022 to Sept. 2024, which delayed timely federal reimbursements. The department said it will update its internal review process within 60 days. WKAR

Carrie Rheingans is advancing two bills that will require insurers to disclose when using artificial intelligence in claims processing and treatment decisions amid warnings from health professionals that unregulated AI may risk patient care; a survey shows 71% of insurers already use or plan AI. - ➤ Michigan municipalities that host recreational cannabis dispensaries will receive 2025 tax revenue as state sales dropped 3% last year; Lansing will see $1.4 million from its 26 licenses + payments are based on roughly $54,000 per license. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ The DeWitt girls basketball team captured its fourth straight district title today after beating East Lansing 51-41, with Sophia Beland scoring 18 points, and will face Sturgis in the Division 1 regional semifinals on Monday, Mar. 9 at Holt High School. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Holt girls basketball beat Okemos 47-46 on Friday, with Olivia Gadson and Maya Barker scoring key points for their fourth consecutive district championship win (Holt 18-5). Holt coach Edwin Jones said the win builds respect and promises ongoing program growth. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Regional finals on March 5 provided final scores for four divisions and set up boys basketball quarterfinal matchups for Tuesday, March 10; most games will be held at neutral sites (except one team that upset its way to a hosting role). Lansing State Journal
- ➤ The Spartans tied 3-3 with Minnesota on March 6 before awaiting their Big Ten tournament semifinals opponent on March 14 at Munn Ice Arena.
