ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local radio and TV stations in Ingham County automatically broadcast severe weather warnings when the National Weather Service detects storms + cell phones also receive Wireless Emergency Alerts to quickly notify Lansing residents. The system uses dedicated boxes at stations to ensure timely alerts during storm events. WKAR

- ➤ Michigan State hockey lost 3 to 2 in overtime to Ohio State on Saturday, March 14 at Munn Ice Arena. Felix Caron scored 2:36 into extra time to propel the Buckeyes into the Big Ten final & MSU now awaits its NCAA tournament placement. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ The DeWitt boys swimming team ended their season with 141 points at the Division 3 state finals (held Saturday, Mar. 14 at the Holland Aquatic Center) as junior Vincent Rose was state runner-up in the 100 breaststroke and helped the team secure a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. - ➤ Pewamo-Westphalia won the D3 boys basketball championship after defeating ATAP on Saturday, March 14 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing & photos capture Grady Eklund’s key plays throughout the game. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Rockford beat East Lansing 54-50 in the MHSAA Division 1 boys basketball state championship on Saturday (Mar. 14) at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Both teams battled hard in a match that concluded with Rockford raising the trophy. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ MSU lost its Big Ten Tournament game on Friday, March 13 as UCLA hit key three-pointers that left the Spartans with a narrow margin for error. Coach Tom Izzo said the team did not respond early, and MSU will learn its seeding today. Lansing State Journal
