  • Redheads gathered downtown on March 14 for the fourth annual Ginger Run, a student-led race that honors Irish culture and redhead pride; running in an alley by El Azteco and along Albert Avenue led to a brief traffic jam.  The State News

CULTURE NEWS

  • MSU Irish Dance Club is hosting a 'Rent-a-Dancer' fundraiser on St. Patrick’s Day that lets students hire a dancer for a jig performance on campus; the club will also offer a dance workshop and prepare a Shrek-themed spring showcase on April 18 (at MSU).  The State News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan State will face North Dakota State in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 on Thursday, March 19 (in Buffalo, N.Y.) as fans have a chance to secure limited tickets for the game.  Lansing State Journal
  • Michigan State seniors were celebrated on Senior Day at Jenison Field House when standout Nikki Smith earned a perfect 10 on floor and the Spartans secured a 197.500 to 194.650 win over Brown as teammates shared heartfelt farewells.  The State News
  • The NCAA selection committee announced the men's bracket on Sunday at 6 p.m. on CBS and the women's bracket at 8 p.m. on ESPN, with No. 3 Michigan expected to be a No. 1 seed and Michigan State likely to get a high seed.  Lansing State Journal
