CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Former police Lt. Ryan Wilcox pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor embezzlement charge on March 13 after using city time for personal work, and a city board approved his retirement with full pension on Tuesday. He will be sentenced on May 1 and must surrender his law enforcement certification. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ A Lansing man, David Gaines Jr. (24), was arraigned Thursday on a manslaughter charge in connection with the January death of Fowlerville man Caleb Shermoe (20) after an altercation outside a restaurant in East Lansing and was released on a $50,000 bond. Lansing State Journal
