  • After a letter taped to their doors on March 24, tenants learned that Kristana Mobile Home will close today due to low occupancy and maintenance issues, with the owner offering a 30-day hotel stay (to help them transition). Some residents (including Becky Jackson and Steven Snider) expressed frustration over the move and uncertainty about next month’s rent.  FOX 47
  • The Lansing Board of Water of Light is hosting a free Community Resource Fair today at the Gier Community Center from 2 pm to 6 pm. The event connects customers and residents behind on bills with local partners offering resource and financial help.  WLNS

  • Ingham County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids surveyed damage from Sunday's storms and found evidence of an EF0 tornado near Leslie and an EF1 tornado north/northeast of Williamston—strong winds caused a tree to fall on a home in Stockbridge Township that killed a 56-year-old man—officials warn of severe storms on Wednesday.  FOX 47
  • The Mackinac Bridge is closed because ice fell from storms in the north — a result of a state emergency declared by the governor — and the Michigan Department of Transportation said it does not know when the bridge will open again.  WLNS

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Consumers Energy is working 24/7 to restore power after severe storms left nearly 140,000 customers without electricity statewide and about 200 in Lansing lost power when lightning knocked down six poles.
