ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 38-year-old man died after a fire broke out Wednesday at Briarcliffe Apartments in south Lansing near Jolly and Dunckel roads. Firefighters responded at 9:13 a.m. and found him unresponsive in a second-floor apartment (the fire caused smoke damage in eight of the 24 units, displacing residents). Lansing State Journal

- ➤ A 48-year-old man from Mason was seriously injured when he fled a police stop for suspected intoxication and traffic violations on Wednesday night and ran a stop sign at Oakland and Cleveland in Lansing—his passenger and the other driver sustained only minor injuries. Lansing State Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A Michigan road building group will select five drivers each month through June to receive up to $758 for car repairs caused by potholes on local roads.
