- ➤ The Center for Michigan released its annual report reviewing 2025 achievements, including increased donations, community events and staff awards + new office openings in Detroit’s Midtown and in Lansing near the state Capitol. Bridge Michigan

- ➤ Briston Maroney headlined the annual spring concert at the Breslin Center on Thursday night, joined by local openers Final Boss Fight! and Flayana Boss as students enjoyed energetic music and creative stage moments (including varied guitar performances) that set the tone for future shows. - ➤ The play Clue will run at Wharton from Tue, Apr. 7 to Sun, Apr. 12 and offers physical comedy and twists from the famous board game and film. Audience members will enjoy fun + engaging stage moves. The State News

- ➤ The US Department of Education began notifying student loan borrowers to choose a new repayment plan as the SAVE program is ending. Two new repayment options launch July 1 (Michigan is hosting webinars to explain new borrowing caps for parents and graduate students). Bridge Michigan
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ EPA on Thursday added microplastics and pharmaceuticals to its candidate list for potential future water regulations but did not mandate testing, prompting Gov Whitmer and local advocates to call for tougher measures (public comments are open until June 1). Bridge Michigan
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Tom Barrett and SBA Kelly Loeffler visited Campbell Press Repair in Lansing on April 3rd to tour the facility and discuss small business issues and local data center zoning. Barrett praised the shop’s role in advanced military production and stressed the need for a strong domestic manufacturing base. WKAR
- ➤ U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler visited Campbell Press Repair (on Apr. 2) in REO Town to showcase local manufacturing and economic efforts. They also met with the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce to discuss business confidence. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Lansing nursing student Zachariah Hernandez, who works at Sparrow Hospital's Neuro Trauma Unit, will graduate from Oakland University in May + begin a national Brain Health Equity Nurse Fellowship this summer to teach locals about brain health and early Alzheimer’s signs. FOX 47

- ➤ MSU hockey senior defenseman Matt Basgall signed an amateur tryout with the San Diego Gulls yesterday to play for the rest of the season, and sophomore defenseman Colin Ralph signed a three-year entry level contract with the St. Louis Blues today that begins in 2026-27. The State News
- ➤ Tom Izzo and John Calipari confirmed Michigan State basketball will play Arkansas on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit even though the final contract is pending (not yet finalized), and the game is expected to follow a Lions matchup as a neutral-site event. Lansing State Journal
