- ➤ Photos taken on April 3 show trails, picnic tables and a view of the Red Cedar River at Capital City Riverside Park near the new Red Cedar development in Lansing. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Capital City Riverside Park opened behind MSU’s Brody complex—featuring a mulched trail along the Red Cedar River that connects to the Lansing River Trail. The park offers an observation deck with picnic tables and was developed by the city, local organizations, and over 100 volunteers. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Local resident Johnny Williams gave his 2005 Mercury Marquis LS—an act of kindness—to Britany Marcia, who was fighting cancer when her car’s transmission failed. The Redrum Motorcycle Family also donated money for repairs so her car can be safe this winter. FOX 47

- ➤ A 60-year-old man died in a two-car crash near Gratiot County at the intersection of W. Cleveland Road and S. Ely Hwy Thursday afternoon, and roads were closed for several hours as investigators continued work while a 21-year-old man from the other car was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. WLNS

- ➤ Lansing Township Board of Trustees approved a site plan in late March for a new Aldi store near Eastwood Towne Center on Lake Lansing Road. The planned store (20,600 square feet with parking for 90 vehicles) will be the area's fourth Aldi and is expected to be built this year. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Ten Pound Fiddle, a volunteer-run folk music group in Lansing, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a weekend of music starting Friday, April 11 and continuing from noon to 10 p.m. on April 12 at University Lutheran Church— the group built its success on a strong volunteer team and careful finances— and remains a key part of Lansing’s folk music scene.
