- ➤ Frances Park offers visitors a peaceful urban retreat with a rose garden featuring 155 varieties, picnic areas, and woodland trails near the Grand River. Named for Mrs. S. Frances Moores (donor from 1918), the park brings nature and recreation close to the city. WJIM AM
- ➤ Volunteers will begin cleaning state highways under MDOT's Adopt-A-Highway program on Saturday, April 11, gathering to remove litter from rural roads across southern Michigan, and additional clean-ups are planned for summer & fall. Stacks 92.1
- ➤ On Saturday, heavy rains flooded The Quarters parking lot and left dozens of cars damaged. Neighbors remain upset over recurring floods as management said the pump was fully operational while an overflow from a nearby drainage field caused the incident. FOX 47

- ➤ Gas prices in Michigan dropped after five weeks of increases, with rates averaging about $3.81 a gallon in Lansing today—drivers still pay roughly 60 cents more than last month amid pressure from rising oil prices. WJIM AM

- ➤ Teacher Dee Smith of Ashley Community Schools from a small village north of Lansing will travel 1,300 miles to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Texas in a few months—joining NASA's LiftOff Summer Institute to gain hands-on space experience for her classroom. Lansing State Journal
