- ➤ Lansing officials celebrated Groesbeck Golf Course’s 100-year history on Tuesday, April 14 at 1523 E. Cesar E. Chavez Ave as Mayor Schor and community figures drove ceremonial balls and vowed not to close the course (with a Hickory Golf Day planned for May 3). Lansing State Journal

- ➤ MSU’s Board voted on Friday, April 10 to merge its College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Human Medicine into MSU Medicine in East Lansing, combining MD and DO programs. The merger (expected to take about two years) aims to optimize training and resource use. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Elly Bengel, a senior guard at Pewamo-Westphalia, was honored as first team all-state in Division 3 on Tuesday, Apr. 14 and led her team to a state runner-up finish while averaging 12.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals (she will continue her basketball career at Lansing Community College).
