- ➤ Competitive eater Joey Chestnut will return to Lansing this summer—he will join Olive Burger Night at the Lugnuts game on Saturday July 19 when Capital City Olive Burgers face the West Michigan Whitecaps while new merchandise and a bobblehead giveaway add to the family fun. FOX 47

- ➤ Some Michigan Avenue businesses said that the $14 million road reconstruction project hurt access and brought fewer customers while parking and longer walks made reaching stores harder. - ➤ Michigan already uses pumped hydro as an energy storage method and now is funding research into longer-lasting renewable storage systems. - ➤ East Lansing is asking for people to join its Historic District Commission to review changes to old building exteriors and teach about preservation. - ➤ Eaton County officials say the Animal Control building may shut down if the public safety millage fails on May 6—more revenue is needed for building upgrades and staffing. Neighbor Nicole Christensen, who has rescued abandoned dogs, is ready to house more animals if needed. FOX 47

- ➤ On April 16, prep contests showed record softball sweeps by Williamston, Laingsburg, and Perry — with Thea Fortin striking out 19 and Addyson Buchin driving in six. Other results included Mason’s baseball wins and decisive rounds in golf, tennis, and soccer that rounded out a busy day for local prep sports — highlighting strong individual and team efforts.
