- ➤ Volunteers with the League of Enchantment—who began with six members in 2017 and now have nearly 200—visited University of Michigan Health Sparrow on Tuesday to cheer 30 hospitalized kids in Lansing by dressing as Wonder Woman, Batman, Supergirl, and Ariel. FOX 47
- ➤ Downtown Lansing is hosting a free family Easter celebration on the Capital lawn today with age-group egg hunts starting at 10:00 a.m.—families can enjoy a stroll through local shops during Bunny Hop on the Square until 2:00 p.m. Stacks 92.1
- ➤ The Capital Area District Libraries, which has 13 branches across Mid-Michigan including downtown Lansing, is asking residents to share ideas for a new five-year strategic plan that will improve staffing, daytime events, and internet services. - ➤ The Michigan Supreme Court ruled that mandatory life sentences without parole for 19- and 20-year-old murderers are unconstitutional because their brains are still developing—which means at least 15 convicted in the Lansing area must be resentenced. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ At Elmwood Elementary, Maner Costerisan accountants taught third graders about money as part of their Good Neighbors program this week. The volunteers explained the ideas of spending, saving, and donating—using clear examples that helped the students learn basic money skills for life. FOX 47
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A constitutional amendment that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote passed an early review on April 18—its board-approved petition language now clears the way for signature collection. The campaign is set to start gathering signatures soon—when the weather consistently improves—and will need over 100,000 new signatures to qualify for the ballot. WKAR
