- ➤ The Nest, a soon-to-open homeless shelter, will host its housewarming event tomorrow (April 29) and open its doors to guests on May 4 in downtown Lansing. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ More than 9,000 neighbors gathered at Michigan State University on Sunday for the 7th annual Izzo Run Walk Roll charity 5K to support local causes through the Izzo Legacy Foundation. - ➤ More than 150 tattoo artists gathered at the Lansing Center over the weekend for the third annual Tattoo City Lansing Convention. Kodi Klocinski from Toledo showcased his work and competed for best in show at the event. FOX 47

- ➤ Michigan State University evacuated Wells Hall today after officials reported an unidentified chemical—emergency personnel are evaluating the substance and advise staying clear. Campus remains safe at this time. FOX 47
- ➤ MSU professor Trey Rogers has spent over five years researching turfgrass for 16 stadiums hosting the 2026 World Cup, with matches starting in June. He will head to Kansas City on July 3 with his family to celebrate his work and recall his 1994 World Cup experience. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Ruby-throated hummingbirds arrived in Michigan by mid-April, and experts advise residents to make nectar (one part sugar, four parts water) and place feeders near plants and safe cover to support feeding during migration. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ A final music performance by MSU medical student Sydney Penrose boosted spirits among dementia patients at Bickford Assisted Living on April 8. Penrose, who founded the East Lansing chapter of Music for Dementia in 2024, played a set that mixed classic and modern tunes and sparked conversation among the residents. The State News
