- ➤ A 27-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an intentional hit-and-run crash on East Jolly Road around 3 a.m. on May 6—police said the victim and the driver were known to each other and he was taken to a local hospital. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ MSU Police are investigating an assault that occurred during the commencement ceremony at the Breslin Center on May 4 and are asking the public to help identify a person of interest—details about the incident remain unconfirmed. WLNS

- ➤ The Lansing City Council passed resolutions on Monday that ask state lawmakers to allow local governments to use red-light and speed cameras following a late-April street racing crash that injured 13 people and killed a 15-year-old. The council also urged Mayor Andy Schor to fill police and fire department positions by adding three to six full-time first responders annually until safe staffing levels are reached—a move aimed at bolstering public safety.
