- ➤ Breeze Airways announced a new flight from Lansing to Tampa that will start October 1 with service twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays+ fares start at $79 one way. The airline will keep its service to Orlando and Ft. Myers from Capital Region International Airport to offer more travel options for locals. Stacks 92.1

- ➤ A memorial was held in south Lansing on May 2 near the site of the April 24 street racing crash on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard that killed a 15-year-old and injured 12 others—residents gathered to honor the victim and express concern over speeding in the area. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Marcus Fields will make his directorial debut with Riverwalk Theatre’s upcoming production of The SpongeBob Musical in Lansing later this month—he and his team of mostly volunteer performers plan to bring a simplified version of the Broadway show while highlighting themes that mirror today’s society. - ➤ Michigan State University announced it will review its sexual assault and domestic violence policies with a new Collaborative Advisory Board that includes Nassar survivors — Rachael Denhollander, Trinea Gonczar and Sterling Riethman. - ➤ Delta Township will start talks with county officials to extend its policing contract after Eaton County voters rejected a millage Tuesday that put needed services like road patrol and animal control at risk — township Supervisor Fonda Brewer said the $4.5 million annual arrangement now faces financial pressure from past infrastructure spending and an upcoming budget deficit. The officials will soon work to find a solution that maintains these essential services. WKAR
- ➤ Lansing Mayor Andy Schor’s proposed $307 million budget allocates over $100 million for police and fire services — it also sets aside $17.5 million for road and bridge repairs in response to local demands. The City Council must approve the budget by May 19 for it to take effect on July 1. FOX 47
- ➤ Lansing’s Parks and Recreation Director Brett Kaschinske said the city's cemeteries will operate at a loss as more families choose cremation over full burials that cost more.
