- ➤ Lansing Christian School was vandalized Friday, May 15 when graffiti appeared above its entrance during rising enrollment tensions — officials turned the incident over to law enforcement as families and teachers plan next steps. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Environmental regulators plan to fine GM $50,000 for maintenance lapses on air-cleaning equipment at the Lansing plant as part of a compliance effort. GM said it is working with the state and the department is accepting comments until May 18 (the issues did not raise emissions above limits). Lansing State Journal

- ➤ New US Census estimates released today show Detroit added 5,000 residents for the year ending July 1, 2025, boosting Michigan’s overall gain by about 28,000 residents and over 22,000 new housing units — while 36 mostly rural counties lost 3,449 people. Bridge Michigan
- ➤ On Friday, Michigan attorneys and environmental groups told a federal appeals court that the Energy Department falsely declared an energy emergency to keep Consumers Energy’s Campbell plant open, delaying its planned retirement and adding at least $180 million in extra costs to Michigan ratepayers. - ➤ The Michigan Department of Natural Resources approved a rule limiting hunters in the Lower Peninsula to one antlered deer per license year starting in 2027; officials say the change will boost deer population balance as hunters complete their last two-antlered season in 2026. WJIM AM
