EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fulton Schools and Ashley Community Schools have chosen Ryan Portenga as their shared superintendent to serve both districts, and he will begin his role in the fall (his contract is awaiting final board approval).  WKAR
  • Photos document MSU President Kevin Guskiewicz’s leadership from his late 2023 hiring at a $975,000 salary (after serving at UNC-Chapel Hill) to key campus events such as a $401 million donation ceremony at the Breslin Center and convocation moments in past years in East Lansing.  Lansing State Journal
  • Michigan State University president Kevin Guskiewicz will leave after serving over two years to head Clemson University as its next president; his start date is pending while MSU trustees plan a transition (per Board Chair Brianna Scott).  Michigan Public Radio
  • Michigan State University President Kevin Guskiewicz sent an email Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. stating board discord led him to step down after Clemson named him president.
