- ➤ Lansing Police are asking for help finding 65-year-old Eric Russell Adams—reported missing and endangered—who was last seen on May 27 at about 11 a.m. on the 1900 block of E. Miller Rd. wearing a green and black shirt that reads Take me to Michigan, blue jeans, a black puffer coat, and a black and white Detroit Tigers hat. Stacks 92.1
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ University of Michigan researchers found that the Great Lakes have entered a new climate era with more extreme heat waves and cold spells that threaten ecosystems, fisheries, and coastal infrastructure — with Lake Superior’s heat waves tripling and Lake Erie’s cold spells nearly tripling in intensity. The study shows shifts starting in 1998 and even earlier changes in some lakes, raising concerns for navigation and water quality in the coming years. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Wildfires in Canada produced dense smoke that lowered air quality on May 30—especially for sensitive groups in the western Upper Peninsula. - ➤ A federal judge dismissed parts of a lawsuit filed by former MSU Faculty Senate Chair Jack Lipton against the board while allowing claims to proceed against trustees Rema Vassar and Dennis Denno — Lipton said the trustees falsely accused him of racism and retaliated after he called for a resignation. Lipton’s attorney said the ruling means the case will move forward as further claims are pursued — and the legal process will continue in court. WKAR
- ➤ Gov. Whitmer outlined three policy goals at the Mackinac Policy Conference on May 29—she wants a semiconductor plant by the end of 2026, better road funding, and improved literacy for fourth graders. The governor said bipartisan cooperation is needed to achieve these goals before she leaves office. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ Planet Fitness announced that teens can sign up for a free summer gym membership available only at a local club from June 1 to Aug. 31—teens aged 18-19 may register online or in person while those aged 14-17 need a parent's permission.
