  • Greater Area Lansing Moms organized the fourth annual Glam Jam summer kickoff event in downtown East Lansing on Sunday, drawing 40 local business vendors, food trucks, and special appearances from MSU celebrities—Sparty and Zeke the Wonder Dog to welcome summer.  FOX 47

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Northbound US-127 is closed at Dunckel Road due to a crash—officials urge drivers to avoid the area.  WLNS

BUSINESS NEWS

  • McDonald's will bring back its Snack Wrap in Michigan on July 10 with a soft tortilla, shredded cheese, lettuce, and a McCrispy Strip available in Spicy or Ranch flavors — the wrap will be served a la carte or in combo meals as long as it remains popular.  WJIM AM

CRIME NEWS

  • Lansing police said that a 28-year-old man was left in critical condition after a hit-and-run crash early Sunday, June 8 on MLK Blvd near Briarfield Drive— and a 24-year-old woman later turned herself in and was arrested.  Lansing State Journal
  • Lansing police reported that a 59-year-old man was fatally shot on Sunday afternoon near Bardaville Street at around 5:38 p.m.—no arrests have been made and officers do not believe the incident was random.  Lansing State Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan State football secured commitments from three three-star prospects (cornerback KJ Deriso, defensive lineman Christopher Knauls Jr. and safety Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy) over the weekend, bringing Coach Jonathan Smith's 2026 class to nine players. They were recruited during a high school camp held in East Lansing.  Lansing State Journal
  • Three Greater Lansing baseball teams—Mason, Olivet and Portland St. Patrick—will compete in the state semifinals at MSU's McLane Stadium, with Mason and Olivet making their first semifinal appearances on June 12 and Portland St. Patrick set to play on June 13.  Lansing State Journal
