- ➤ The Michigan State Police Jackson Post issued a scam alert after receiving reports that texts claiming to be from the Michigan DMV threaten to suspend driver’s licenses if a fraudulent fine is not paid — the messages falsely state that records of missed payments will lead to legal action and include a link to a fake website — and officials warned recipients to delete the texts and not share personal information. - ➤ Lansing Police identified Marvin High Jr., 58, as the man fatally shot at about 5:38 p.m. Sunday at the 3300 block of Bardaville Street off North Grand River Avenue east of Waverly Road—no arrests have been made. Lansing State Journal
