- ➤ Lansing police arrested Ross Coats, 34, and Nicole Blowers, 32, on murder charges for the death of Marvin High Jr, 58, after an argument over money owed—Coats shot High multiple times before both suspects fled on a motorcycle. FOX 47
- ➤ Lansing law enforcement is asking residents for tips on two individuals wanted on warrants - Gregori Formosa Rybinin, 32, is sought for contempt of court in Ingham County and Breonna Jace Shade, 33, is sought for alleged conspiracy to commit witness intimidation in Lansing - and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan at 517-483-STOP to potentially receive up to $1,000. - ➤ Michigan State University reached settlements totaling nearly $30 million with three students who survived a 2023 mass shooting—paying $14.2 million, $13 million, and $2.5 million—and with families of three students killed in late 2023 after a gunman fired inside two campus buildings and later killed himself. In Lansing, the 32nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration will start Saturday, June 14, with an essay awards program at Lansing Community College Building on June 18 and a celebration at St. Joseph Park on June 21. - ➤ After a public safety millage failed in May, Eaton County officials proposed a 30% cut to community mental health funding—providers worry neighbors may face fewer services and have to travel farther for care.
