- ➤ Today, neighbors may join a Check Your Heart rally at the Capitol from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as Gift of Life Michigan asks lawmakers to support the organ donor registry. Later, Meridian Township will unveil two new fire trucks at its Okemos station at 5 p.m. — McLaren Greater Lansing is hosting a free hernia screening on Lake Lansing Rd from 6 to 7:30 p.m. FOX 47
- ➤ Lansing’s Brenke Fish Ladder in Old Town is getting a new amphitheater funded by a $3.4 million investment from the Capital Region Community Foundation and a $1.7 million state boost to triple its seating for the Dam Jam Festival. - ➤ Health officials said tick numbers are rising and even mowed lawns do not keep ticks from biting and spreading Lyme disease and other infections.
