- ➤ Windemere Park in Lansing Township sits near the former General Motors plant and has a paved pathway — with short natural trails — that wind through wooded hills and open fields. - ➤ A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Leslie was critically injured in a crash on June 19 at about 7 p.m. near Hull and Coy roads in Vevay Township—witnesses said speed and his lack of a helmet contributed to the crash—and an 86-year-old Mason driver was treated for minor injuries. - ➤ MDOT will close the M-99 ramp to eastbound I-96 beginning Monday for resurfacing as part of a $15 million project to improve pavement, drainage, and pedestrian safety on M-99 in south Lansing—drivers should follow detour signs via westbound I-96 and Lansing Road Exit 98A and expect delays. - ➤ Today, neighbors gather at UM Health Sparrow Hospital from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a Medicaid rally protesting votes that gave tax breaks to the wealthy—while Mayor Andy Schor unveils Lansing's 2025 Summer Safety Plan at Rotary Park at 9:30 a.m. and Meridian Township hosts its 5th annual Juneteenth celebration with live music and vendors from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Marketplace on the Green Pavilion. - ➤ East Lansing City Council approved a tentative settlement to refund $7.8 million to Board of Water and Light customers who paid a franchise fee ruled as an illegal tax, pending Ingham County Circuit Court approval.
