- ➤ A new park in Lansing now offers free workout equipment funded by $45 million in millage, grants and donations that will come over 30 years — giving residents who struggle with gym fees a chance to exercise. Mayor Andy Schor said the park supports easy access to exercise within a 10-minute walk from home. FOX 47

- ➤ Eric King expanded Poppa’s Cookbook into the Rathbun Accelerator Kitchen at Allen Neighborhood Center where he will run a soul food restaurant and catering business. The restaurant, which opened on July 2, offers a rotating menu with dishes like chicken-fried steak and macaroni and cheese — King says his focus is on sharing his original recipes — to delight local diners. - ➤ Multi-state operator TerrAscend Corp. is pulling out of Michigan by closing its 20 dispensaries and four cultivation and processing facilities, a move that will cost about 250 jobs and reflects a tough cannabis market—new operators are expected to later acquire some of the relinquished licenses.
