- ➤ Lansing police responded to St. Joseph Park at 12:23 a.m. on Aug. 4 after a report of a possible stabbing and erratic driving by 40 to 50 vehicles—officers later took the injured person to a local hospital, and officials said the stabbing does not appear random and poses no public threat. - ➤ The Lansing School District will open its new $30 million Mt. Hope School later this month to serve students in grades 4-8. Lansing State Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Michigan joined a multi-state lawsuit over federal EV charger funding on August 4th, arguing that a pause in promised payments left the state about $29 million short to complete its charging network. The state had already awarded contracts for its first round of stations and may lose funding for 65 additional chargers as round three begins — officials claim the funding cut jeopardizes both state infrastructure and economic growth. - ➤ On Sunday, Nov. 2 at 2 a.m.—Michiganders will set their clocks back to Standard Time and gain an extra hour of sleep, leading to earlier sunsets and longer nights. Lansing State Journal
