- ➤ Magic Johnson returned to Lansing this weekend to host a car show at Union Missionary Baptist Church that honored his father and raised funds for local law enforcement and first responders—visitors came from across Michigan, including one man from Flint who brought his wife’s 1971 Chevelle. - ➤ Michigan officials from the Department of Natural Resources are asking residents to inspect trees for signs of the invasive Asian longhorned beetle this month — a crucial step to protect maples and other hardwood trees.
