- ➤ O&W Inc.—one of three Michigan distributors—will offer Yuengling Lager, Yuengling Black & Tan, and Yuengling Flight in East Lansing, Ann Arbor and Detroit as locals check the updated Beer Finder website for hundreds of spots selling the brew. - ➤ Larry Kirchhoff of All Star Mechanical had his two TV commercials turned down by WLNS and Fox 47 despite earlier script approvals—he spent $13,500 to produce provocative 30-second spots that drew both anger and praise. - ➤ Lansing police are seeking help to find 12-year-old Faith Ann-Marie Brown (last seen on Aug. 19 near the 3900 block of Hartford Road in southwest Lansing wearing a black T-shirt, gray sweatpants, a pink umbrella and a Hello Kitty backpack) and ask anyone with information to call 517-483-4600. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The new Mt. Hope School in Lansing opened on August 20, welcoming more than 400 students to a $30 million building that took two years to build — it is the first of several district improvements approved after a 2022 tax vote. District officials and teachers celebrated the start of the school year as more renovations are planned for other campuses. Lansing State Journal

- ➤ At Potter Park Zoo, eastern black rhino Doppsee, 18, was treated after a July 28 medical emergency and her condition worsened to critical on August 19 as she stopped eating and showed signs of colic—zoo officials said they are using all available treatments to help her recover.
