  • A year ago, Lansing unveiled a redesign for the Ovation Center of Music and Arts by Albert Kahn Associates that planned an undulating glass façade but high bids and tariffs forced a change by removing the cantilever roof and diagonal glass walls—Freund & Associates now lead the design-build project to keep costs down while preserving the audience experience.  Lansing City Pulse

  • Lansing residents learned about proposed changes to the city charter at an informational meeting led by Chair Brian Jeffries — the commission plans to keep the strong mayor system and add a council seat to avoid vote ties with the modifications on the ballot November 4; if approved, key changes such as requiring a mayoral strategic plan will take effect January 1, 2026.  FOX 47
  • Lansing City Council passed new bidding rules for construction projects over $15,000 that score bids on factors such as apprenticeship programs and worker benefits instead of the lowest price.
