- ➤ Michigan is hosting commemorative events today to honor 9/11 victims; Lansing Remembers starts at 8:30 a.m. at Wentworth Park while ceremonies in Grand Rapids, Pontiac, Rochester Hills, Detroit and other cities will mark the 24th anniversary and remember nearly 3,000 lives lost—42 with local ties. - ➤ City leaders have used a $165 fee on red-tagged houses to pay for inspections but the fee sometimes hurts responsible owners like Dale Schrader on Seymour Avenue who are fixing their properties. - ➤ Officials unveiled completed renovations on Sept. 10 at the former Walter French Junior High School in Lansing—now known as The Residences at Walter French—which features 76 apartments, the Capital Area Housing Partnership headquarters, and the Monarch Early Learning Center. - ➤ Michigan State men's basketball released its nonconference schedule for the 2025-2026 season – the team will host 12 power conference opponents including Duke at the Breslin Center while playing exhibition games against Bowling Green and UConn and additional contests against Arkansas, Kentucky, East Carolina, North Carolina, Oakland, Colgate, San Jose State, Detroit Mercy, Toledo and Cornell.
