Neighbors gathered at Woldumar Nature Center on Sunday to celebrate 45 years of preserving the Moon Cabin, a historic structure built in the 1860s that was moved in the 1980s to avoid demolition+ The celebration underscored the cabin’s role in teaching locals about Michigan history and environmental practices.

On Sunday, over 70 neighbors ran a 5k called Run to Recovery at Lansing Shuffle to raise funds for local groups—Loaves and Fishes homeless shelter and Endeavor House, a transitional housing program.

Stephen McCorry, who organized the event based on his personal experience with addiction, said he hopes the annual fundraiser will continue to support recovery services.
