  • Data from the Michigan League for Public Policy shows nearly three quarters of Michigan high school students are not college ready based on ACT and SAT scores—experts say factors like the COVID‐19 pandemic, underinvestment in education, and poverty contribute to lower college attendance.   • The FDA expanded a public health alert on ground cinnamon after tests found high lead levels in several brands sold in Michigan—if your bottle is on the recall list, stop using it immediately and dispose of it.   • Michigan, fresh from its win over Washington, will face a rebounding Spartans team tonight at 7:30 p.m. on NBC at Spartan Stadium—MSU looks to bounce back after a 38—13 loss to Indiana.  WJIM AM
  • On Sunday at the Breslin Center, Michigan State volleyball beat Maryland in a tough five-set match that improved their record to 15 to 3 overall and 5 to 3 in the Big Ten—fighting back after a three-set loss to Nebraska two days earlier. Key players Bianca Mumcular and Karolina Staniszewska led the Spartans with 13 and 19 kills as Maryland rallied late in the match.  Lansing State Journal
  • Coach Jonathan Smith’s MSU football team started games strong but then lost their lead when opponents scored many unanswered points — including a 38-13 loss to Indiana and a 41-14 defeat to Rutgers. The team must fix its play ahead of their next rivalry game as they work to regain competitiveness.  The State News
  • No. 3 Michigan State hockey swept No. 1 Boston University this weekend with wins of 4—2 and 4—3 in overtime, marking their first meeting since 2014 and showcasing a strong penalty kill and aggressive power play.
