- ➤ USPS, FedEx, and UPS have posted their holiday shipping deadlines to help ensure packages arrive before Christmas. Michiganders should plan to send gifts by the carrier-specific dates (ranging from Dec. 15 to Dec. 24) and note that no mail will be delivered on Thanksgiving or Christmas. Lansing State Journal

FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ On November 28, the Michigan Lottery released drawing results for Daily 3, Daily 4, Lucky For Life, Poker Lotto, Fantasy 5 and Daily Keno games, with draws held midday and in the evening—winners saw numbers announced after each draw. Winners must claim prizes at local retailers, by mail, or in person—prizes over $100,000 require claims at 101 E. Hillsdale with valid ID and scheduled appointments. Lansing State Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Michigan DNR warns waterfowl hunters that bird flu is rising among wild birds after more than 130 cases were found in Michigan watersheds—hunters should wear gloves and cook all meat to 165°F before the season ends on February 15. WJIM AM
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Today, DeWitt football faces Mount Pleasant at Ford Field for its eighth state championship appearance. The Panthers lost state finals in 1989, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2013 and 2021 but won their first title in 2020 under coach Zimmerman. Lansing State Journal
- ➤ Michigan State won its first Big Ten game with a 38-28 victory over Maryland at Ford Field on November 29—quarterback Alessio Milivojevic threw three first-half touchdowns to keep coach Jonathan Smith from a winless record. The Spartans struggled on defense, stand at 1-8 in conference play, and will face Toledo on Sept. 5. Lansing State Journal
