- ➤ After Eaton Rapids teacher Makenna Morse died in a car crash last April, locals honored her legacy by donating over 2,000 books during a Small Business Saturday drive at six local bookstores—books that are destined for more than 200 Little Free Libraries across Michigan. - ➤ The East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts is offering a special fitness pass deal from Dec. 1 to Dec. 23 at the Hannah Community Center at 819 Abbot Road + the Family Aquatic Center at 6400 Abbot Road. - ➤ Gillespie Group broke ground yesterday on Brick Row redevelopment—six buildings on East Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing are set for renovation after a wall-breaking event with founder Pat Gillespie and Mayor Andy Schor.
