- ➤ Downtown Lansing Inc. received funding to boost its signature Big Red Ball Gala (a black-tie event) and support local businesses, with the funds set to enhance downtown appeal and help find new Middle Village businesses this spring. FOX 47
- ➤ Lansing’s Code Blue plan has been extended as warming centers work to keep people safe from dangerously cold, single-digit temperatures. - ➤ Verizon suffered a network outage on Jan. 14 that led to call failures and an SOS icon replacing signal indicators in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Engineers are working quickly to resolve the issue, and customers are questioning if they will receive a credit. Lansing State Journal
